Intel just released a 64-bit processor for mainstream PCs on Monday, which is Intel’s latest Celeron D 351, the heir-apparent to the current Celeron D S775 processor series. Celeron D 351 is integrated with 64-bit processing technology (Intel named EM64T), whicle Celeron D S775 is only a 32-bit chip.

RSS Is Core Technology In Longhorn

Tuesday 28 June 2005 @ 1:19 pm

Since XML is one of the core languages for Microsoft applications, I am not surprise Microsoft announced that Longhorn will incorporate RSS (Really Simple Syndication) as a core technology. This news has been confirmed during the Gnomedex conference in Seattle last Friday, June 24, 2005.

Quoted:
Gary Schare, director of strategic product management in the Windows division of Microsoft, says that while RSS is a reliable standard for updating information in message form, it currently has no logical way to organize that information in a way that could help subscribers keep track of what is being fed to them.

“RSS is good for delivering what’s new, but not so good for things that are getting sorted or reordered,” Schare says.

RSS capability will be built into the OS, for example, you can have one set of newsfeed subscriptions show up in any Longhorn-compatibled newsreader or other application. Microsoft also says that Longhorn’s RSS will make it easier for software developers to incorporate RSS-enabled features into their programs without having to build the functionality from scratch.

China Fights Illegal Site

Monday 27 June 2005 @ 4:06 pm

China has been trying to control the cyberspace in the country while the issue of illegal websites is going rampant in recent few years. Now, China come out with a policy that all Chinese-run websites that fail to register with telecommunications authorities before June 30, 2005 will be temporarily closed down. The temporarily suspended websites will be given another 10 days to comply before being shut down permanently.

Quoted:
The announcement was made Friday by the Ministry of Information Industry in a bid “to control domestic Internet information services,” the Xinhua news agency said.

This move is the latest in China’s efforts to police the Internet and follow stringent efforts known as the Great Firewall of China. This will certainly be a very good step to keep illegal wesbites off the Internet.

I’m Back !!

Sunday 26 June 2005 @ 11:28 pm

Hi guys,

I’m back !!

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I had to shorten my 3 days trip to 2.

Anyway, it was a great trip to Genting. Enjoyed the theme park facilities so much like the breathtaking Solero SpaceShot, roller coaster and the new Flying Coaster. I didn’t gamble, just sat outside Starbucks enjoying the freezing breeze with a venti size cream based Caramel Frappuccino in my hand.

Missed my PC so much. Anyway, I’m back in action. :)

Will Be Away For 3 Days

Friday 24 June 2005 @ 4:05 am

Hi Everyone,

Feel so sorry to announce I’ll be away for 3 days from today, June 24, 2005, onwards.
Feel sorry for couldn’t attend to PPS Bash held yesterday, June 23, 2005 evening due to my trip to KL later on.

Ok guys, I’ll be going to KL later at 7:30am by bus to meet some good friends and old colleagues in KL in the following days.

Planned to hang out at Kinokuniya (my favourite hang out place when I was working in KLCC) once I finish my lunch after reaching KL around 12pm. Probably I’ll be in the big book store from 1pm until 6pm, before I go for my dinner. I’ll be sitting there reading books with my Nike backpack beside me, maybe I’ll be wearing black t-shirt with a pair of jeans. After my dinner (have not decided where to eat yet), I’ll be at KLCC Starbucks to enjoy my favourite cream-based Caramel Frappuccino until around 11pm before my friend comed and pick me up. If you happen to see me, come over to say hello and I’ll treat you a cup of latte at Starbuck, because today is my birthday !! :D Yes, June 24 is my birthday !!

Saturday morning, I’ll be going to Genting with 5 of my best friends and will spend a night there. Hopefully, no rain or anything to stop me from enjoying the cool atmosphere there. :)

Probably will be back to Penang and continue blogging on Monday. So, stay tuned guys. Sorry for no breaking IT news from me for the next 3 days.

Can’t imagine my life without Internet for the next 3 days. :-?

Ok, gtg now, gotta catch a merely 2 hours sleep now.
