Microsoft Inc, revealed last week that they have developed technology to allow its next-generation home-use video game console, Xbox 360, to be connected online with portable game machines of rival firms, such as Sony and Nintendo.

Quoted:
Users of the Sony (NYSE: SNE) Latest News about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) and the Nintendo Latest News about Nintendo DS will thus be able to connect their machines with the Xbox 360 Latest News about Xbox and play Microsoft’s games over the Internet, Microsoft officials said.

Since I blog about the Google Mobile Search, I might as well talk about Google SMS Service too. :)

Last month, I blogged about Google Into SMS Service, when Google acquired New York based texting (SMS) service provider, Dodgeball. I had a feeling that Google might have some plans to tap into SMS service sooner or later, now as I’ve expected they have Google SMS Service !!

Google Launched Mobile XHTML Search

Google has just launched a new search service that only links to XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language) pages that have been formatted for display in small screens of mobile devices like PDA and mobile phone. Mobile users can already perform searches from mobile device with a Web browser and enter a query in the search box at Google.com or Google.com/xhtml. For your information, this blog is written in XHTML. :)

This week, Google added a new “Mobile Web” option to the pages. When this button is selected, users will only receive links to XHTML pages that have been formatted for the smaller displays of mobile devices.

In fact, Google also offers a similar Web search service for phones that support WML (Wireless Markup Language) instead of XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language). The WML search service can be reached at Google.com/wml. However, WML doesn’t support images, so searching for pictures isn’t possible using this service. Unfortunately, the newly launched Mobile Web option is not available on WML phones.

Yahoo! Inc., announced on Sunday, June 19, 2005, the beta launch of Yahoo! Search Subscriptions, a service that enables users to search multiple online subscription content sources and the Web from a single search box.

Yahoo Search

Subscription content includes:-

  • ConsumerReports.org
  • The Wall Street Journal Online (30 days)
  • TheStreet.com
  • The New England Journal of Medicine
  • IEEE
  • Forrester Research Inc.
  • Financial Times (60 days)

The search service includes millions of access-restricted Web sites containing content that search engines typically cannot access. It is initially only available in the U.S. and the UK.
