While we are still talking about the free Opera web browser, Mozilla has just announced its latest FireFox release, FireFox 1.0.7.
This latest release includes a patch of a critical security flaw which allows attackers to take advantage on the vulnerabilities to cause a denial of service or launch malicious code. This patch is in fact to fix a potential buffer overflow vulnerability. Besides, there are of course some other stability and security fixes in this version.
So, if you are using an older version of FireFox, it’s recommended to install this latest version.
How to check what version of FireFox are you using ? Open your FireFox, click the Help on top of your toolbar, after that select About Mozilla FireFox. You will see the version number then.

Ok, I have just gone to your blog.
From what the email is written, I think if you did not request any request such as password recovery, just don’t bother the email and delete it without second thought. There are too many phishing email nowadays.
As for the question of whether have to upgrade, I would recommend an upgrade. This is simply because you won’t know what will the attacker do to your browser. So, the latest patched version can prevent them from taking advantage of the known flaws.
In version 1.0.7, a critical buffer overflow vulnerability has been patched, this type of vulnerability is dangerous as it might halt your browser, thus, allow the attacker to launch denial of service (DOS), a type of attack to congest your traffic terribly so that he/she can sneak into your system.
Besides, there are some other flaws and stability fixes included too. :)
