Astonishing Nokia Concept Phones

Wednesday 5 October 2005 @ 2:31 pm

I unintentionally reached the Nokia Concept Lounge while I was browsing Club Nokia just now. Nokia Concept Lounge is an interactive flash website, something similar to the brilliant flash website that I have shared last week.

Nokia Concept Lounge

The Nokia Concept Lounge is sharing Nokia’s visions in designing its future phone models, showing some concept phones of Nokia as well as encouraging visitors to submit their brilliant ideas to Nokia. Up to 5 winners with the most innovative ideas may walk away with a Nokia 7710. Well, if you are a Club Nokia member like me, you stand a chance to win an extra prize : Nokia Digital Pen.

Basically, besides the freedom of walking around in the flash presentation, there are 4 major sections :-

  • Nokia’s Visions – The section where you submit and view ideas
  • Future Concepts – Ideas from the Nokia Designing Team
  • Future Testers – Where you get to try out the winning ideas.
  • Design Awards – The Nokia Benellux Open Design Awards for students.

Well, before you start playing with the flash webpage, let me show you some of the nice designs of Nokia concept phones.

A Brilliant Flash Website

Wednesday 28 September 2005 @ 11:25 am

I just came across a website which I think it is by far the most creatively designed website I have ever browsed.

While people are complaining the use of flash media by Macromedia in a website is resource intensive, serving no purpose, lame and stupid, this website utilizes flash media to the maximum yet I don’t feel any lag while browsing.

Leo Burnett

By the way, before entering the website, please make sure you have a flash player installed. Okay, here goes :

Leo Burnett : Big Idea come out of Big Pencils

Leo Burnett is an Agency company that helps companies in brand building through various marketing strategies including designing posters, holding advertising campaigns, etc. The above website is a subsidiary of the Main Website where all the portfolio of its creative works are shown. I love creative ads !!

Wednesday 21 September 2005 @ 4:41 pm

This is not a computer technology related post, I just felt like want to share an interesting product. Personally, I love innovative products, well of course it has to be practical as well.

Very often I feel fed up cutting pizza using a knife. Now it seems slicing pizza is not that hard anymore, thanks to Miles Kimball for introducing Pizza Fork and Cutter.

Pizza Cutter

Quoted:
This time-saver cuts through pizza crust, forking up bites and delivering them right to your mouth!

Great !! Love it !!

It’s only USD$5.99 each and USD$9.99 a pair. So, what are you waiting for? :)

AdSense On Google Talk ?

Friday 16 September 2005 @ 4:26 am

Google Talk with AdSense
Just some thing to ponder after we have seen eBay acquired Skype just 3 days ago. It’s almost certain Skype will start integrating some services related to eBay business in near future. So, that actually rang me a bell that Google might do the same to its Instant Messenger application, Google Talk, as well.

In fact, I think Google is definitely considering to integrate one of its advertising services, Google AdSense, into Google talk.

The purpose of AdSense in Google Talk can be as an advertisement banner or text link. It might appears whenever we write some keywords. Take for instance, when we type CRM (stands for Customer Relationship Management) software, there will be a text advertisement shows up some where in the conversation windows.

Personally, I think this is quite highly possible as we have already seen MSN Messenger having an advertisement banner at the bottom of the application. However, if this feature is enabled by default, Google Talk should allow the user to turn it off because some times it’s very annoying seeing too many advertisements while chatting. :p
