Interviewed By Malay Mail Newspaper

Friday 30 May 2008 @ 9:04 pm

About 2 weeks ago, I received a surprise email from the consultant of Malay Mail Newspaper, asking for my consent to get featured on their BlogSpot section. They have been featuring a number of famous bloggers in Malaysia for the past weeks and finally my interview was published 2 days ago on Wednesday, May 28, 2008. I only received the snapshot of article today, hence, this late post.

Well, I don’t have much to add to the interview published right now but I’m really happy for the Interview as I’m not forgotten even though I was away from this blog for so long. Below are some links related to the memories I mentioned in the interview :-

This interview marks my return to blogging after 5 months of long break, which I dearly regretted as mentioned in the interview. I owe so much to the users of my WordPress Theme – Adsminded and the blog readers too for the lack of blog update. A major update of Adsminded will be released in June and I will set up a forum dedicated for it as well.

You will definitely see me posting again very soon, till then see ya!

32GB USB Flash Drive On Sale!

Wednesday 7 May 2008 @ 6:01 pm

This morning, I was browsing through some sales of computer peripherals at Amazon and was a little shock to see such huge capacity USB flash drive is on sale!

corsair 32gb flash drive

Corsair Flash Voyager is the latest product manufactured by Corsair and it’s the largest capacity USB 2.0 flash drive to date with a massive 32GB of storage. While Moore’s law is suggesting memory capacity would double its size approximately every 2 years, I think this 32GB flash drive is a bit beyond the projection, don’t you think so?

Anyway, obviously this USB flash drive is not a prototype but an end product selling on the shelves in many online computer stores right now, below are some sales I found :-

Corsair is well known of its high quality and performance computer main memory (RAM), therefore they are confident with Corsair Flash Voyager by offering a 10 years limited warranty. Even though the durable rubber casing doesn’t make it one stylish flash drive, I suppose the capacity, reliability and its warranty are enough win our hearts.

Anyway, with such a huge capacity, you can practically store the entire Windows Vista operating system, all application programs, and a couples of DVD into it! Moving huge files from one PC to another PC outside a network and harddisk backup would never been easier using it too.

Apple iPod Nano has evolved to the 3rd generation, now with larger and brighter display. The design of its casing somehow doesn’t change much and still consists of an anodized aluminum top and polished stainless steel back. You might already been getting bored of the original casing and want something different?

Well, the world’s first platinum Apple iPod Nano is soon to be launched by the UK’s Goldstriker. Unlike the conventional casing, the platinum plated iPod Nano uses the most precious metal and it sure look more glamorous and style.

Friday 5 October 2007 @ 2:58 am

Nokia is going full force into expanding their mobile mapping service by offering to buy US-based Navteq for a massive US$8.1billion. Navteq is a company which develops digital maps for the car industry, satellite navigation devices, internet-based mapping applications and solutions for the government and business markets.

Early this year, Nokia rolled out their mobile mapping service called Smart2go. I even have a post about the review of Smart2Go, which was done by a reader of mine, Hafiz Ismail.

Nokia Mobile Mapping Service

“The navigation area is a fast-growing business, and with location-based services expanding rapidly into mobile communications devices, the industry is poised for even further growth,” Nokia said in a statement.

Pointing Device For Your TV

Wednesday 9 May 2007 @ 4:13 am

Ever think of using a “mouse-like” device as pointing device for your TV instead of the dull TV remote control? You know, like having a cursor moving in your TV just like what we have for PC?

Hillcrest Labs actually has this revolutionary pointing device for TV called HōMETM Interactive Media System.

home freespace device

Quoted:
Hillcrest Labs’ HōMETM Interactive Media System combines the first graphical, zoomable interface for television with a patented motion control technology called FreespaceTM. Where Freespace is a motion control technology senses motion in three dimensions and precisely translates human motions into on–screen cursor movement.

This device is used with a special program to recognize hand movements and provides graphical interface for televisions. In fact, the HōME software can be embedded in a broad range of digital media devices, including high definition televisions, set–top boxes, and PCs too.

Here is a video demonstration of this futuristic device by CNET. The device looks very promising even though it will only hit the market maybe another year later.
