100 Million iPod Sold

Tuesday 10 April 2007 @ 11:29 pm

iPod‘s fans have made history as Apple announced yesterday that there have been 100 million iPods sold to date, since its launch in November 2001! 100 million sold in five and a half years is incredible and there is no doubt iPod is still the pioneer in music player industry.

100million ipod

Aside from making history, one of the good side effects from this incredible sales is that it brought sales to other products too.

Quoted:
The iPod has also sparked an unprecedented ecosystem of over 4,000 accessories made specifically for the iPod that range from fashionable cases to speaker systems, and more than 70 percent of 2007-model US automobiles currently offer iPod connectivity.

Anyway, if you want to know more about iPod, Wikipedia has a very detailed page for it.

Spam Commentssssss

Tuesday 10 April 2007 @ 2:16 pm

After another hectic week with server outage issues, death of desktop’s motherboard and some offline activities, I’m finally back to blogging again.

Every time when I come back blogging, the first thing I need to deal with is the spam comments. This is the biggest trouble I need to face because usually the number of the spam comments is huge! Last week it marked the most spam comments I’ve received so far, just take a look for yourself :-

spam comments

Minus some less than 30 comments that still under moderation, the rest are just simply spam comments. Can you imagine that?
Anyway, I did glance through all the comments in case I miss any valuable one before deleting the junk.

Talking about spam filter for WordPress, I’ve tried Bad Behaviour and Spam Karma. Both of them didn’t really give good results.
I will have to try Askimet soon.

Anyone has an effective spam filter to recommend? I need it badly!
Thanks.

7x Optical Zoom Webcam

Thursday 8 February 2007 @ 10:48 am

Have a webcam? What other purpose you use your webcam for other than having video chat or video conferencing with friends/family? I don’t know about you, but I do use my webcam as a surveillance camera. My webcam is a cheap one (costs about RM25/US$7) and it is able to zoom digitally for about 5x only. As you might have known, the picture quality is not good using digital zoom.

7x optical zoom webcam

This 7x optical zoom webcam is definitely a perfect webcam to act as a cheap solution for surveillance, while you can zoom more without compromising the picture quality. In fact, this webcam is just like normal CMOS camera of 1.3-millon pixels. However, it has an edge over other webcams as it has a special telephoto lens to get fixed onto it in order to leverage the optical zoom capability!

Ringgit To US Dollar Gone Below 3.50 !

Wednesday 7 February 2007 @ 2:18 pm

After been labeled #2 most influential blog in Malaysia, I better write something related to the blogphere here. Well, since many bloggers in Malaysia are earning through blogging these days, we should really pay attention to the currency exchange.

Sad to say that we don’t always get good news from this blog. Yesterday, the foreign exchange rate Ringgit Malaysia (RM) to 1 US Dollar has dropped below 3.50 since November 1997 during the economy crisis in Malaysia. The exchange rate was 3.4963 as at 5.32pm yesterday.

RM to USD

Please note that the rate at 3.4963 is just the market exchange rate, you will have lower rate when you exchange locally, depending on which bank you exchange with. In other words, the bank will buy your US Dollar at a lower rate than 3.4963.
