Saturday 21 May 2011 @ 1:28 am

I wrote a post about Yes Life app & some Frequently Asked Questions 2 days ago. Below is the 4-minute video showing a live demo of Yes Life app during the launch.

In the video, CEO of YTL Communication, Wing K. Lee, first demonstrated how easy to make calls to any mobile phone number from Yes Life app running on a Apple iPad. After that, a phone call from another mobile phone was picked up via Yes Life app. Before the end of the demo, a SMS conversation was created between the Yes 018 number and a DiGi number via Yes Life app as well.

Yes Life App For iOS Devices & The Unofficial FAQ

Thursday 19 May 2011 @ 9:53 pm

Last week Yes 4G released a revolutionary application for iOS devices that they promise will change the way we use our iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Yes Life iOS App is their latest innovation which allows iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users to make & receive calls, SMS, call from oversea at a low IDD rates, plus enjoy no roaming charges (3G data charges may apply) while abroad.

The reason I say it’s revolutionary is because previously we can only use Yes 4G service on PC via Yes Life PC version and on 4 specific Yes devices namely Yes Buzz, Yes Go, Yes Huddle and Yes Zoom. Now with the new Yes Life iOS app we can even enjoy the 4G network using our iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch!

Yes 4G network is run on a SIM-less architecture that is utilizing unique IDs and does not require a SIM card. So, we just need to install Yes Life app on our iOS device and sign up a unique Yes ID then we are good to go. A 018 phone number will be given during the signup process as well.

By running Yes Life iOS app, we can have 2 phone numbers on the iPhone, one is the phone number on the SIM card and another will be Yes 4G’s 018 number. Besides, Yes Life iOS app transforms the iPad, iPad2 or iPod touch into a mobile phone, which we can make/receive calls and SMS on all these devices.

My Idea : Instant Voice Translation Application

Friday 30 April 2010 @ 1:13 pm

I love traveling but traveling to overseas where language is a barrier of communication is no fun at all. Therefore, I’ve thought of this Instant Voice Translation application for Nokia N-series phones in the Better World category. Better communication for a better world! :)

The idea is illustrated in the sketch below :-

Instant Voice Translation For Mobile

Instant Voice Translation (Click to enlarge)
  • 1. The phone user speaks to the phone in foreign language.
  • 2. The phone translates the spoken words into English by utilizing its voice recognition and language translation feature.
  • 3. The phone sends a query to dictionary.com or Google Dictionary for the voice pronunciation of the translated words.
  • 4. The dictionary.com or Google Dictionary server returns the voice output to the phone.
  • 5. The phone will output the translated words in voice to the user.

I believe this application is fairly easy to be developed as all the features required on the phone and server are already available, the only thing to solve is to integrate them together.

Kindly please vote for this Instant Voice Translation and help make it a reality soon. :)
Thanks!
