Back To Google PageRank 5

Thursday 1 April 2010 @ 8:48 am

It’s been a long time since this blog got its Google PageRank 5. It should be around 2 years back if my memory serves me right.

Google PageRank 5

In fact, I realized the recent update of Google PageRank about two weeks ago and was quite happy with it. I have not been sold text links anymore since the last PageRank (PR) drop, so I suppose this is the reward from Google to me for doing so.

Google PR of a website goes up and down depending on how Google judges it, therefore I’m not so particular with it. Nevertheless, it does have a significant effect to how the website is ranking in the Google search result.

This is how Wikipedia explains about Google PageRank :-

Google assigns a numeric weighting from 0-10 for each webpage on the Internet; this PageRank denotes a site’s importance in the eyes of Google. The PageRank is derived from a theoretical probability value on a logarithmic scale like the Richter Scale.

I usually use this PageRank Checker to double check the PR in addition to the PR showing on my Google toolbar. This PageRank Checker will query more than 20 Google servers across the world in order to show more accurate result.

By the way, I’ll be posting some reviews of Nokia N900 and two WordPress related books that has been long overdue. So, stay tuned! :)

Tuesday 17 November 2009 @ 5:02 pm

If you are a iPhone user and have a WordPress blog, either self hosted or at wordpress.com, you may want to check out this custom version of WordPress for iPhone. The 2.0 version had just been released early this month, below is the latest release of its introduction video :-

https://videopress.com/v/wp-content/plugins/video/flvplayer.swf?ver=1.10

In case you are already using an older version of WordPress for iPhone prior to this 2.0 version, you may want to install this latest version from AppStore. WordPress for iPhone 2.0 was released as a new app instead of an upgrade version because the previous version was developed by a contract developer.

Have more questions about WordPress for iPhone in your mind? Check out their FAQ page. A support forum is there for you in case you need any support.

Now we have WordPress for iPhone and WordPress for Blackberry available, I’m wondering is there a development going on for Symbian S60v5? My Nokia N97 deserves some awesome app like this! :)

Google Chrome Operating System Is Coming Our Way, Finally!

Thursday 9 July 2009 @ 10:49 am

Google ChromeDid you see it coming? I would say this is the most anticipated product that I have been waiting for in these few years. This piece of exciting news just arrived after 10 months since Google Chrome Web Browser was released last year.

Most of the Operating System (OS) we are using today were designed and development prior to the Internet era. Google Development Team realizes this and is aiming to produce an OS for people who are relying on the web (Btw, who doesn’t?). Besides, they are also smart enough to sense that netbook is the new trend right now. Therefore, Google Chrome Operating System is designed for the web and will be initially used on netbook.

Below are some highlights of Google Chrome Operating System :-

  • Open source – Like many of the Unix-based OS, it offers accessibility to its source code
  • Lightweight – Less complicated, fast and easy to use
  • Runs on x86 Computer Architecture – Meaning it runs on the same PC you are running Windows, Mac, Linux, etc, as well
  • Secure – The security architecture of the OS was completely redesigned so that it’s virus, malware and security update free

The OS is scheduled to be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. I just can’t wait to see it!

More FAQ about the OS.
