i usually just login to my gmail and leave it and then i’ll open another tab and continue browsing.the inbox refreshes itself every few minutes,so…

i used the unofficial notifier before,long long time ago but i dint really like it.cant remb why though.

Personally, I prefer the notifier because I have different priorities for different email accounts, so if everything comes into one of them might cause a little bit confusion.

Anyway, nice tip, iZuDeeN.

Instead of running additional program to ‘notify’ you of new email, just set to automatically ‘forward’ the emails from your Gmail account to your prefered email choice. You can forward to your Yahoo or Hotmail account.

This way, you don’t have to ‘login’ to multiple email notifier to get your mail. Im using MSN Messenger to notify me of any new email, be it from my Hotmail or Gmail account.

Official one or Firefox extension?

For official Gmail Notifier, after you have downloaded the GmailInstaller.exe, just run it. Then you’ll find it in your All Programs from the Start button there. If it is running, you’ll see a light blue colour envelope-like icon appears on your right bottom corner (the Notification Area). Right click on it, then choose Check Mail Now. You will need to enter your username and password for your Gmail account then.

Whereas, the Firefox extension even easier, just click the Install Now link provided in one of the links in my article. That’s it.
