The city of San Francisco of the United State will become a wide scale WiFi zone covering the entire 49-square mile city for free or at least at minimal charges. The city government of San Francisco on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, issued guidelines for a plan to build universal and affordable, if not free, wireless infrastructures in place for all San Franciscans.
Quoted:
San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom said the city is soliciting ideas for an ambitious system that would put WiFi in the hands of people whether they are working in a high-rise office tower, riding on a cable car or living in a low-income housing project.
In fact, according to Intel’s annual ranking, San Francisco already ranks just behind Seattle as the nation’s most “unwired city” in America, thanks to the large amount of cafes and restaurants that offer WiFi service.

Wow..I wonder when will Klang Valley reach that status. Even broadband penetration is so low here no thanks to the inconsistent service from local ISPs.
Feel free to read my blog. My focus is on mobile technology.
cool..wonder when they’re gonna implement it. too bad my laptop died on me last week. i’m gonna bring hew to san fran..remember to bug him for souvenirs haha
@PrincessE: I think this won’t happen to Klang Valley, even in 2020. We are way too far to catch up. Sigh…
Sure, I’ll take a look of your blog, in fact I’m a fan of mobile technology. If you don’t mind to have a link exchange, I’ve already linked to you. :)
@saeng: I have no clue when are they gonna implement the plan, but for sure will be quite soon.
Sure I’ll ask him to get me something. Thought of asking him to get me a “DC Shoes” or “Levis”, but I’m worried of the sizes.
the levi’s here suck. they’re real cheap but there’s not much design to choose from. real plain compared to what we have back in m’sia.
I agree, because I just asked a friend to buy me a pair of Levi’s from the US 2 weeks ago. The design is dull, nothing special. So i did my own “stone wash” using sand paper. :D
haha brilliant!
