The long anticipating Swype input is now available for Nokia Phones, thanks for the collaboration between Swype Inc and Nokia Lab. I’m a long time fan of Swype since my first experience of using it on Samsung Galaxy S. Now I’m glad that I can use it on my Nokia N97 even though it’s still under beta testing.
Currently, Swype for Nokia supports the following Nokia S60 5th Edition touch screen phones :-
- Nokia 5800
- Nokia 5230
- Nokia X6
- Nokia N97
- Nokia N97mini
I recorded my first swype on Nokia N97, check it out :-
Below are the steps to install Swype on you Nokia phone :-
- 1. Login to Beta Lab and download the .SIS file (3.6MB)
- 2. Connect the phone to the PC in PC Suite mode.
- 3. Open Nokia PC Suite then select Install applications.
- 4. Browse to the .SIS file you downloaded in step 1, then install it.
- 5. After Swype is installed into the phone, you’ll need to restart the phone to make it fully functional.
Hope this cool feature will go out of beta testing soon.
Now stop typing and starting swyping. :)
