It’s about time to upgrade your WordPress blog as WordPress 2.9 has just been released by the development team.
This new version is named “Carmen” in honor of magical jazz vocalist Carmen McRae.
New features were added, such as :-
- Undo delete – Rescue back your deleted post or comment. By having this undo delete feature, there is no need to have the “Are you sure” message on every delete, so it saves our time.
- Built-in image editor – Crop, edit, rotate, flip, and scale your images as you like, directly in the editor.
- Batch plugin update and compatibility checking – Update multiple plugins with one click, no more hassle!
- Easier video embeds – Directly paste a URL of an online video, you’ll see it magically turned into the proper embed video in your post. WP2.9 currently support videos from YouTube, Daily Motion, Blip.tv, Flickr, Hulu, Viddler, Qik, Revision3, Scribd, Google Video, Photobucket, PollDaddy, and WordPress.tv.
Below is a test to try out the cool video embed feature, just make sure the video URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked :-
