MiTV Launched !!

Wednesday 7 September 2005 @ 4:33 pm

MiTV
The long awaited MiTV is finally launched!! This is sort of a good news to local people as the subscribed TV service in Malaysia is no more monopolized by Astro now.

Before you decided to subscribe for it, please check the availability of the service by checking your postcode. This is because initially MiTV will be broadcasted in the Klang Valley only, and soon will have a full coverage across Malaysia in the next few quarters. You can now sign up the service directly over the phone or walk in to the nearest MiTV dealer, for more information go here.

The basic subscription fee is RM68/month, this will include all channels and interactive services available on MiTV. Meanwhile, all subscriptions activated by 31st December 2005, will enjoy 4 months of FREE subscription.

However, One thing stopped me from thinking further is the expensive Set Top Box, which costs RM1,188.

Weekly Highlights [Aug 29, 2005 – Sep 4, 2005]

Tuesday 6 September 2005 @ 2:38 am

Last week was a high-traffic week thanks to the Google Talk Themes I created. I created a total of 6 themes in 3 days, as well as showing you all the short tutorial of how to create your own Google Talk Themes. Basically, articles I have posted are as follows :-

MondayWednesday
Created Google Talk Themes in various colours, including the favourite Blue, Black, Red, Yellow, Pink and Purple. Feel free to download any theme you like. :) On Wednesday, I posted the link to the trailer of Doom, The Movie. It is a movie based on the story line of the famous computer game DOOM. Besides, last Wednesday Opera was celebrating its 10 year anniversary and was giving out FREE download of the full Ad-Free version of Opera 8.02. I’m sorry if you missed out the opportunity.

Thursday
Some possible products might be produced by Google have been speculated on last Thursday, including GoogleNet, Gbrowser, Google Office and GoogleOS.

Friday
Following the great news from Opera 2 days ago, another stunning news was Yahoo was offering new domain registration for USD$1.99/year only !! I’m sorry again, if you missed it as it already ended on September 2nd, 2005. Besides, I did a compilation of all the Google Talk Themes and took a little effort to write down the tutorial as well. A guy created a Mac Mini Mod by combining a toy Millennium Falcon, Apple iSight and Apple Mac Mini.

Saturday
I shared a detailed and well written article comparing mobile processors, both Intel Pentium-M (Dothan) and AMD Turion64.

Sunday
I shared a Linux IQ Test provided by cNet, it’s not that hard, but I got only 7/10 correct. Then I posted an online search service, Tagomatic.com. It allows users to search similar entities of entertainment media, such as Musics, Bands, Movies, Books, and Web Sites using tags.

“Freeze Dry” In Windows Vista

Monday 5 September 2005 @ 12:28 pm

Microsoft
Sick of application forcing you to restart your PC after installing patches the operating system? I have a painful experience when the system automatically rebooted after installing Acrobat Reader’s patch, and I lost all my unsaved data.

Fortunately, the next Windows, Windows Vista, will have a new restart manager called “Freeze Dry“.

Perhaps in most instances, users won’t have to restart Windows Vista after installing the patches or updating an application even while the application is running. In fact, Windows Vista is doing a workaround trick by replacing the patched file and wait for the next time the application is restarted. It is at least useful for some people.
