Apple To Use Intel Chips Confirmed

As the follow up of the article “Apple Switches To Intel Chips“, on Monday, June 6, 2005, Apple confirmed to use Intel chips beginning in mid 2006.

Quoted:
â€œOur goal is to provide our customers with the best personal computers in the world, and looking ahead Intel has the strongest processor roadmap by far,â€ said Steve Jobs, Appleâ€™s CEO. â€œItâ€™s been ten years since our transition to the PowerPC, and we think Intelâ€™s technology will help us create the best personal computers for the next ten years.â€

Apple posted a news article in their website as the announcement of this special event.

Apple previewed a version of its critically acclaimed operating system, Mac OSÂ® X Tiger, running on an Intel-based MacÂ® to the over 3,800 developers attending CEO Steve Jobsâ€™ keynote address. Apple also announced the availability of a Developer Transition Kit, consisting of an Intel-based Mac development system along with preview versions of Appleâ€™s software, which will allow developers to prepare versions of their applications which will run on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs.

their applications which can run on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs. I can just picture a Apple commercial now. Ending with the famous Intel jingle. Think Different. Intel Inside. Yipes!
