My First Ever WordPress Plugin – Submit It Plugin

Tuesday 7 March 2006 @ 12:09 pm

Hi everyone,

I’m so glad I finished my first ever WordPress plugin today. I named it Submit It.

Submit It WordPress Plugin

Submit It is just a simple plugin as shown in the picture. You can try it out at the end the written artile in any post. The plugin will insert some pieces of codes in every single page to show the links. Basically, the plugin allows you or your readers to submit a particular post of yours and bookmark it at any of the popular blog services as linked in the plugin.

I saw these links in quite a lot of blogs but have not seen any plugin for it. So, I created myself after one of my blog buddies, n305er sent me some of the basic codes. Submit It plugin was created with “easy to use” goal in mind. You just need to put only 1 line of code into the PHP file and start using the plugin.

I will write a detail tutorial of installing this plugin later in a separate page so that everyone can freely download and install it into your WordPress blog.

By the way, I’m not a PHP programmer expert, so if you find any bug or problem using the plugin, please let me know. Fell free to tell me your opinion about this simple plugin as well, like do you find it useful?
Thanks.

As Promised, I Am Bald Now

Thursday 10 November 2005 @ 2:17 pm

Hair For Hospice7 th October 2005, I announced that I will be one of the bloggers taking part in Hair For Hospice by shaving my head to raise some fund. Here is an update about the event. In fact, I shaved my head on 1st November and I am now already bald for 10 days. :)

Peter Tan (the organizer) and 5 of us (Jason Tee, Sharizal, Devyne, Jason Lioh and I) took part in the campaign and we initially planned to shave on the same day on 6th November. However, Sharizal and I shaved our heads few days before that.

Some of us including Peter himself have posted the entry of us gone bald :-

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have supported the campaign. So far we managed to get RM5,170 in pledges to date and the total amount donated is RM4,570. Without your generous support, the campaign won’t be successful.

The pledging is still going on. Please feel free to donate, if you feel like contributing. Donation can be in any amount, and here is the donation instructions. You may visit the official donation page of this campaign too.

Again, thank you so much for supporting. May God bless you all. :)

I Am Going Botak (Bald), Very Soon !

Friday 7 October 2005 @ 4:42 pm

Well, no kidding this time. Within seconds Peter asked me during one of our MSN conversations few days back, I agreed to shave my head along with him and Jason to raise some money for the Penang Hospice-At-Home-Programme. As Peter has mentioned, this campaign is called “Hair For Hospice”.

I knew Peter in the first Penang bloggers gathering I attended in August, 2005. Since then, we have been chatting via MSN quite frequently. I have to admit, within such a short period, he has become one of my close buddies not only on the virtual Internet, but in real life too. Who says we can’t get real friends on the Net, huh?

Me

Gonna miss my hair.

Before I get shaved, just sharing a pic of mine. Can’t really imagine how will I look like. Anyway, compared to Peter’s 42-months worth of uncut hair, my cut-it-every-month-or-so hair doesn’t seem to be a big problem to shave it off. I used to change my hair style every now and then in the past 10 years from flat-top (during Form 2) to samurai look (2 years ago, while The Last Samurai was showing :P ). However, I have not tried to shave my head in my life, so I guess this is the right moment to do it, and for a good cause.

Going bald was not a hard decision, though it sure leaves some side effects to my daily life. I am not a rich guy, but I still have some hair on my head and the guts to shave it. So, why not go for it.
