I am not too sure is this the first hack for Apple iPod Nano, but for sure, it’s one of the earliest after we have just heard of the launch of iPod Nano less than 1 week ago.
At the moment, possible hacks to iPod Nano are still limited, not like other members of the iPod family where you can even install a Linux distribution into it. Anyway, there are only a few tricks can be done to iPod Nano, such as changing the fonts, text strings and the graphics.

Apple iPod Nano Hacked
Good news for iTunes users in the west, as there are at least three mobile phone operators around the globe are eager about offering its clients ability to acquire music in Apple’s iTunes online music store to their mobile phone. They are :-
- Cingular Wireless, from the US
- T-Mobile, from Germany
- O2, from the U.K.
Quoted:
T-Mobile of Germany, O2 from the U.K. as well as Cingular from the U.S. plan to announce a deal with Apple and allow its clients to use iTunes music store via special mobile phones from Motorola, Reuters news-agency reports. T-Mobile has reportedly officially announced the intention to enable iTunes in its networks by Christmas, 2005. Cingular and O2 declined to comment, it is claimed.
I have just come across a very well written article comparing mobile processors, both Intel Pentium-M (Dothan) and AMD Turion64. I know, there are tons of articles comparing the two, but I found this selected review is comparing as scientifically fair as possible. In other words, the review picked laptops with the specifications as close as possible and running benchmarks more than once to produce reliable results, not like some other reviews comparing totally different laptop setups (like this one).
Of course, there are limitations of the review (which doesn’t?), such as running most of the benchmarking off the AC plug. This is because running off AC plug and off the battery would possibly results in difference on performance of the laptop.
Furthermore, you will definitely be surprised of some benchmarking results like file compression, multimedia and battery life. After reading through the review, I can’t agree more with some of the conclusions made.

Intel Pentium-M vs AMD Turion64
Ok guys, this is definitely a stunning news for anyone using Intel Pentium D processor (actually it is as stunning for everyone else :p ) !!
Intel Corp. recently revealed that its Intel Pentium D processor is actually 2 Intel Pentium 4 cores on the same package !! This announcement was made by Jonathan Douglas, a principal engineer in Intel’s Digital Enterprise Group (responsible for making chips for office desktops and servers) at the conference at Stanford University.
Quoted:
“Intel was unable to design a new memory bus in time for the dual-core chip, so it kept the same bus structure that older Pentium 4 chips used”“We’re putting two cores in one package; it’s like trying to fit into the pair of pants you saved from college” =))
In fact, Pentium D’s bus could support two separate single-core processors, but it was far less efficient than either the dual-independent buses that will appear on the Paxville processors (Intel forthcoming server chip) or the integrated memory controller used on AMD‘s chips (a true Direct Connect Architecture !!).

What? Intel Pentium D Is Actually Two Pentium 4 !!
Guys, how fast is your PC processor is running? 2.4GHz? 3.8GHz? or 4Ghz after you overclocked it?
You will get shocked when you know the current world record of computer processor overclocking is 7.1335 GHz !!! It’s almost double the speed of the fastest processor available in the market now.
This new record was set by a Japanese overclocker named Memesana, who has managed to overclock Intel Pentium 4 670 microprocessor to that extreme speed and even run certain benchmarks on the system by using liquid nitrogen for cooling purposes.

New Overclocking World Record : 7.1335 GHz !!
Motorola has just announced the launch of Moto Q, which they claim is the world’s thinnest and lightest handset with a qwerty keypad. The Moto Q is expected to be available in Q1 of 2006.
Moto Q is designed to deliver a mobile office experience, like what its close rival Blackberry does. Moto Q combines quality voice, data, and multimedia in one amazing “RAZR-thin†package (13.9mm thin!!). Hence, Motorola believes Moto Q helps make mobility = productivity.
Quoted:
Q leverages Microsoft’s familiar and trusted Windows Mobile software and is among the first devices to run on the new Windows Mobile 5.0 platform which delivers scalable and cost-effective mobile messaging support with Exchange 2003 out of the box. This enables the device to work overtime to leverage existing corporate investments in infrastructure, training and support while continuing to protect office networks, data and applications.
