Google Talk – Blue Theme

Sunday 28 August 2005 @ 7:55 pm

I suppose you have already heard of the beta version of Google Talk launched last week. It is in fact quite flexible to get customized with its interface. I have create a blue theme for it, if you like it, feel free to download it. :)

Google Talk Blue Theme

The following are some simple steps to change the original grey theme.

  • Download my Google Talk Blue Theme now here. (I have zipped it)
    Downloaded times
  • Open your windows explorer, look for C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk folder.
  • Rename your original googletalk.exe to something else (e.g. bryantalks.exe), just in case my file doesn’t work, you can still rename back to the original name.
  • Put my googletalk.exe into the folder.
  • Double click and run it.

Hope you like it. :)

By the way, if you would like to format the text as shown in the above picture, you can do the following :-

  • Put _ in between your words to italic it.
    _SapiensBryan_ will become SapiensBryan
  • Put * in between your words to bold it.
    *SapiensBryan* will become SapiensBryan

Enjoy using Google Talk, everyone. :)

p/s: Use at your own risk and you promise not to sue me. :)

Put Latest IT News Into Your Website

Thursday 11 August 2005 @ 1:49 am

My News Feeds
I’ve just come across something really cool via Liew’s website. It’s a free service provided by NEWSiness, which generate RSS feeds into JavaScript, so that you are able to integrate it into webpages. In fact, I’ve seen this in some of the websites integrating news RSS feeds on their side columns (like what you see in the pic). Finally, I’ve got mine.

If you would like to display latest IT news from my blog into your blog/website, feel free to cut & paste the following codes onto your sidebar. :)
[js]

Powered by: NEWSiness.com[/js]

As in the code, it will only display 3 latest news. If you would like more news, lets say 5, to be displayed, just alter the number 3 in the code, to 5. This way, you’ll see 5 latest news been shown.

Thanks in advance !! :)

p/s : As suggested by ShaolinTiger, I’ll try to code it using PHP instead of JavaScript from third party. Stay tuned.

Another Trick To By Pass Windows® Genuine Advantage

Sunday 7 August 2005 @ 2:52 am

Oh, I’m so bad >:) , keep on revealing how to bypass the Windows® Genuine Advantage validation process. Last Friday, I’ve shown you a little trick using JavaScript to crack the process, however, I heard from some of my net friends, this trick no longer workable.

Anyway, today here is another one. :D

Just follow the following steps from SinHack, you should be able to update your pirated somehow-can’t-get-validated Windows.

Gmail Notifier For Desktop & Firefox

Tuesday 2 August 2005 @ 11:56 am

Gmail
I believe most of us have Gmail account, right? Anyway, just in case you still do not have any, email me, I’ll send you an invitation right away.

Ok, since most of us have Gmail, don’t you feel it’s quite troublesome to login to Gmail account to check whether you have got any email from time to time? Especially when you are waiting for an important email coming into your Gmail account.

Well, there are actually two great applications to help you on this.

Gmail do have its own official Gmail Notifier, which is a Windows application that alerts you when you have new Gmail messages. You’ll need to install it on your system and run it. Basically, the notification functionality of Google Gmail Notifier is similar to MSN Messenger (For Hotmail) or Yahoo Messenger (For Yahoo Mail), except you can’t use it for chatting. :p
