Google Toolbar For FireFox

Google FireFox Toolbar

On Thursday July 7, 2005, Google launched their beta version of Google Toolbar for Firefox !! Finally it is released as Google previously only offered a toolbar for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.

The toolbar offers a Google search box (though this feature by default appears in FireFox :D ), search news articles, page rank, spell check, translator, and Google’s AutoLink that turns street addresses into links to a map. Page Rank Personally I like the page rank and translator feature. With Gooegle Toolbar now we just have to point to the word then the translation of the word will appear, useful and come in handy. The green bar in the page rank feature gives you an idea of how high the webpage you are viewing is ranked in Google.

Quoted:
“Not that long ago, the Google Firefox Toolbar team met for the first time – and now we’ve built the Google Toolbar for Firefox in 10 languages for three operating systems (Windows, Mac and Linux),” said Tech Lead Justin Voskuhl in the Google Blog.

There are 2 more extensions for Google Toolbar in Firefox, which are Google Send to Phone and Google Suggest. Google Send to Phone allows you to send text messages of web page content to US mobile phone number ONLY. :p Whereas Google Suggest will auto-complete search terms that you enter in the Firefox Search bar. Both extensions are avilable in Google Extensions For FireFox page.

LoL …. I found out one big difference between Google Toolbar for FireFox and Google Toolbar for IE !! Atleast Google Toolbar for FireFox doesn’t have Pop-Up blocker !! :D

Have questions abou this new toolbar for FireFox? Have a look of their Toolbar Help Page. :)

There’s been a good good Google toolbar for Firefox for a long time, enabling you search news, images, normal search, highlight keywords etc.

There was some basic unofficial ones before that too.

Yup ShaolinTiger, you are right. :)

In fact, I installed the GoogleBar from Mozilla and uninstalled it before I went for the latest Google Toolbar by Google.

I found that the latest Google Toolbar has something I want, which are PageRank and Translation. I suppose the GoogleBar from Mozilla has page rank too (not sure about this though). Anyway, the translation still my love about latest Google Toolbar. :)

By the way, I like your name. :D
