Nokia E7 – A Touchscreen Smartphone With Full QWERTY Keyboard For Business Users

I was invited to the Premier Preview of Nokia E7 a day before its official launching in Malaysia on last Friday, 4th March, 2011. I saw this latest E Series Nokia phone in Nokia World 2010 last September so it’s not foreign to me and I had more time to play with it in this premier preview.

The hardware specification of Nokia E7 is similar to Nokia N8, the major differences are that Nokia E7 sports a full QWERTY keyboard, a 4-inch Clear Black Display and 8MP camera. The internal memory for Nokia E7 (350MB) is more than twice bigger than Nokia N8 (135MB) too. However, Nokia E7 lacks micro-SD slot, FM Transmitter and 2mm charging port.

Nokia E7 is designed for business use so the software bundle comes pre-installed in the phone is another selling point. Phone security is very important to business users, F-Secure Anti-Theft For Mobile app will come in handy as it enables the owner of the phone to lock or trace the phone remotely when the phone is stolen or lost. This app can be purchased in Ovi Store for EURO29.95 per year but you are getting a lifetime free version in Nokia E7.

QuickOffice Premium version is installed in the phone as well, so viewing and editing office document would be easy especially with the full QWERTY keyboard.

Nokia TopApp is another app exclusively developed by Nokia for Nokia E7. This app recommends the hottest apps in Ovi Store and it helps finding good apps in different categories as well.
