Over the last weekend, Nokia launched in Malaysia their latest smartphones running Windows Phone 7.5. Nokia Lumia 710 and Nokia Lumia 800 were revealed at the launch at Pavilion, KL.

Nokia Lumia 800

Nokia Lumia 800 looks almost identical to Nokia N9 as it features a unibody polycarbonate body same as the Nokia N9. However, there are many differences between them. Below is the list of the key specifications of Nokia Lumia 800 :-

• Runs on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) OS
• 1.4 Ghz Single Core MSM8255 CPU
• 16GB internal storage, 512MB program memory
• 3.7″ WVGA (800×480) AMOLED ClearBlack curved display
• 8MP auto-focus Carl Zeiss camera with LED flash
• 3 colours available: Black, Cyan, Magenta
• 1450 mAh battery
• Price: RM1650

Nokia Lumia 710

On the other hand, Nokia Lumia 710 can be personalized with exchangeable back covers (in 5 colours: black, white, cyan, fuchsia & yellow). Nokia Lumia 710 runs on the same 1.4 GHz processor, hardware acceleration, graphics processor and the same OS as the Nokia Lumia 800. Priced at a lower price than Nokia Lumia 800, Nokia Lumia 710 features :-

• 8GB internal storage
• 3.7″ WVGA (800×480) TFT ClearBlack display
• 5MP auto-focus camera with LED flash
• 1300 mAh battery
• Price: RM999

Premium applications that pre-installed in these Nokia Lumia phones at the moment are :-

• Nokia Drive: turn by turn voice navigation available for more than 100 countries.
• Nokia Maps: full featured maps navigation with local POI, pin destination, etc.
• Contacts transfer: helps users migrate phonebook contacts from other devices and platforms

More premium applications will be offered free from Nokia in the near future, such as Nokia Music, Apps Highlights and XBox Live. Operator billing for apps purchase in Windows Phone 7 Marketplace will come in Q2 or sooner for Nokia Lumia in Malaysia. Discussion with the 3 major telcos is still on going at this stage.
