We have seen the news 2 days ago, of the launching of Microsoft’s Windows® Genuine Advantage (WGA), which requires Windows users to validate their copies of Windows before being allowed to download any updates from Microsoft. Yesterday, this “compulsory” check has been cracked within 24 hours after launching !!
Here is how it works,
When you want to update your Windows through the Windows Update, you will be directed to a page as shown in the pic below.
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
Before you press “Custom” or “Express” button paste the following text to the address bar and press enter:
By doing so, It will turn off the trigger for the key check, thus, you will be able to bypass the “compulsory” check before updating your system.
Anyone using genuine Windows copy, could you please confirm this trick? :D
Windows Update can only be run on Internet Explorer ONLY. Besides, this trick might not work once Microsoft discovers it soon.

if you have anything beyond XP, such as vista or windows 7, then going to the website directs you to the built in feature that windows already has. Windows Vista uses WGA, while windows 7 is the first to use WAT (this technology is part of windows and is not an add-on like WGA). using this feature only works in XP.
