Waterproof Optical Mouse

DT-OM
Waterproof keyboard is no longer a new computer peripheral, but what about waterproof mouse? :D

Computer peripheral maker, IKEY, has introduced its AquaPointâ„¢ optical, waterproof mouse, which is named DT-OM. The special feature it has to be a industry standard waterproof mouse is the NEMA 4X AquaPointâ„¢.

Quoted:
NEMA 4X AquaPointâ„¢ features a sealed, industrial silicone overlay and robust polycarbonate frame. Its reliable, optical technology allows it to function on most any surface, while its smooth-surface buttons make the unit easy to clean.

Furthermore, it is an optical mouse, which means, it can be used on any solid surface (except glass of course :p ). Personally, I think it is more than waterproof, as it provides protection to dust and haze too. :D This mouse is quite suitable to be used in construction areas where there is dusty; and suitable for people with sweaty hands too.

While the haze problem is getting worse in Malaysia, go get this water/dust/haze-proof mouse !! LoL…

Update:
Since I mentioned haze, we are now in a state of emergency, check it out here. The air pollution index (API) had reached 529 in Port Klang and 531 in Kuala Selangor !! FYI, level above 500 would trigger a state of emergency.

heh. you and i think alike, RB. the minute i saw this post, the first thing that came into my mind was ‘why would anyone want a waterproof mouse’.

yes i was thinking to myself, it’s not like we are going to use our mouse underwater! then i get it. perhaps it is waterproof so that if the coke or coffee you are drinking while surfing or typing, spill on your mouse, no worry at all with this waterproof mouse.

what i would like though is a dirt-proof mouse! (that withstand finger-marks eg. sweat from our hands and so on). last time i use a white/beige normal mouse, it get so dirty, and me lazy never bother to clean it. then when i bought a wireless optical mouse, i opted for a black greyish one so that the dirt won’t show easily but now after years of using it, the dirt shows!

argh! don’t ask me to clean it. lazy is my middle name. haha. i need a dirt-proof mouse!
