Just about a year ago, I blogged about Nokia Mobile Search, which is a free application for Nokia mobile phones to search local services, websites, images and mobile contents. Besides, I also blogged about the free mobile mapping service provided by Mobile GMaps for viewing Google Maps on Nokia mobile phones.
Well, today I present you another free service by Nokia, its latest mobile mapping service : Smart2go!

Smart2go is basically a new service for Nokia mobile phone users to browse high resolution map with locations details on mobile phones. With Smart2go, when you come across any happening places you can save them as your favourite spots then share with your friends.
Smart2go supports maps from more than 150 countries, and Malaysia is NOT now in the list. At the moment, it only supports Nokia S60 and Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. However, according to Nokia they will roll out support for most other major mobile OS platforms, including Series 40, PocketPC, Linux, and other Windows Mobile devices later in the year.
Want to try it out now? Head to their download page and get the software install either via PC or via SMS.
Update (14 Feb, 07) : Malaysia is finally included into the list, yeay!

I’m a Nookie fan. Surely they have Singapore’s map, right? I can still use it in Singapore then.

Yes, they have Singapore and even Indonesia. I have no idea why Malaysia is not in the list though.

I’m a fan of assisted navigation. Surely the future of mobile devices is the integration with satellite and terrestrial radio references. On my web site I’ve reviewed some navigators and I’ve seen the convergence of multimedia and GPS in all devices.

And the best bit is, that you wouldn’t necessarly require GPS in your mobile to do this, since its relatively cheap (10p) to get your longitude / latitude from your MSISDN number.
