I bet some of you have noticed Microsoft just released the latest beta version of Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer 7 beta 2, a few days ago.
You might be wondering how good/reliable/secure/user-friendly is this latest version of the most widely used web browser as compared to its closest rival, Firefox. Well, Networking Pipeline has written a very thorough comparison of the Internet Explorer 7 beta 2 and Firefox 1.5.0.2.
The following are the break down of all chapters of the review :-
- Facing Firefox – A brief introduction of the comparison between Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 1.5.0.2
- Standards And Tabs – Comparison of basic features of web browsers between them.
- Security Matters – Compare both of them in term of security measures.
- Conclusions – Sums up the all comparisons and gives some insights of IE7 beta 2’s short comings.
San Francisco has become the first city in the U.S. to offer safer sex advice to teenagers via SMS. With this latest service come to live, it’s no doubt the city is currently ranked just behind Seattle as the nation’s most “unwired city†in the U.S.
The text-messaging program is basically directed at young people ages 12 to 24. According to Michelle Irving, a 22-year-old peer educator with the city’s Department of Public Health, a lot of teenagers don’t go to clinics, and they’re afraid to ask questions regarding sex, such as problem with broken condoms and how to respond to pressures to have sex.

Saw a collection of old advertisements of Apple Macintosh back in 1984.
A guy did a series of full-page scan of 16 pages of advertisement in Newsweek magazine and published it onto the net. Somehow, I have a little doubt why the mouse of the Mac was placed on the left hand side.
Just to share the link with you, hope you like it.

Seagate Barracuda 750GB
Seagate Technology has just announced the release of the world’s first 750GB desktop hard drive. The first shipments of this huge capacity internal hard drive was yesterday (April 26, 2006). The external model with the same capacity will be released this coming Monday, May 1, 2006.
Seagate’s latest 750GB harddisk is part of the new Barracuda 7200.10 family which currently having 2 models ST3750640AS and ST3750840AS. Barracuda 7200.10 harddisks are built on perpendicular recording technology, a new technology that increases data density while decreasing moving parts for a more dependable drive.
Quoted:
Perpendicular recording technology stands data bits vertically onto the disc media, rather than horizontal to the surface as with traditional longitudinal recording, to deliver new levels of hard drive data density, capacity and reliability.
I’m back with a bad news to whom using pirated copy of Windows operating system. Finally, Microsoft has decided to put up a message on the login screen for every pirated Windows user.
Quoted:
Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of local PC users running pirated Windows operating systems will soon face the shame of being reminded of their illegal action every time they switch on their machines.
Face the shame? Not sure about this but I suppose the anti-piracy message will be very annoying.
This anti-piracy message will appear after the next Windows update commencing today (April 26, 2006). At the moment, only users of pirated Windows in the following five countries will experience this “new” and “special” feature, they are United States, Britain, New Zealand, Australia and Malaysia.
Well, Windows with this “special” feature can still receive software update, but not allowed to upgrade Internet Explorer to version 7 and download Windows Defender.
