How To Disable Firefox 3.0 Smart Location Bar

Friday 20 June 2008 @ 1:24 pm

Entering the second day after Firefox 3.0 was released, mixed feedback was heard. Personally, I am satisfied with Firefox 3.0, except the Smart Location Bar, or so called Awesome Bar. I don’t like the autocomplete nature of this Smart Location Bar, as it lists out the possible bookmarked site or previously visited sites while I’m typing in the address. I know the purpose is to save my time and hassle to type the whole address but it’s annoying me more than helping because I need to choose from some irrelevant results listed. I guess some Firefox users who used Firefox 2.0 before the upgrade will feel the same too.

If you are thinking of disabling this Smart Location Bar from automatically listing, do some tweaking to Firefox 3 then.

New Opera 9.5 Is Here Too!

Thursday 19 June 2008 @ 8:46 pm

I’ve just upgrade my Opera web browser. What about you? In fact, Opera 9.5 was released on June 12, 2008, a few days before the release of Firefox 3.

Opera 9.5

Within the first 5 days of this new version available, Opera 9.5 has received more than 4.7 million downloads. Pretty impressive I would say, but it’s just about half of the download total Firefox 3 received in 1 single day! The total download for Firefox is now surpassing 11 millions downloads worldwide.

Help The Refugees Via UNHCR

Friday 6 June 2008 @ 2:45 pm

Received an email from the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) at noon today and I thought I should blog about it immediately before the habit of procrastinating in blogging hits me again. When it comes to spreading love to the world, I should not procrastinate at all!

UN Refugee Agency

This 20th June is World Refugee Day and in conjunction with it, UNHCR Malaysia wish to encourage people to understand more about refugees in our country. Refugees are different from migrants, refugees do not choose to leave their country, they do not have a choice but to do so because of difficult living conditions in their home land. We currently have over 39,000 refugees and asylum seekers in Malaysia.

A 90-second video clip named “Hands of Hope” was produced in Malaysia pro bono for UNHCR by the advertising agency EURO RSCG KL. Check it out :-

Price of petrol in Malaysia is officially raised to RM2.70 today from the previous RM1.92. It’s a whooping 40.6% increase overnight! So, it’s time to start spending more time at home than driving on the road.

Well, other than earning from home we can also learn from home. Check out Lecture Fox for free lectures from various universities around the world, many from the famous MIT, Harvard, etc!

Lecture Fox

You get to read the notes of most the lectures, some you may even find lecture audio or video in it!

I think now I have 1 more reason to stay at home sitting in front of the PC despite I am too old to be a student. :D
