Motorola iTunes Enabled Phone
Good news for iTunes users in the west, as there are at least three mobile phone operators around the globe are eager about offering its clients ability to acquire music in Apple’s iTunes online music store to their mobile phone. They are :-

  • Cingular Wireless, from the US
  • T-Mobile, from Germany
  • O2, from the U.K.

Quoted:
T-Mobile of Germany, O2 from the U.K. as well as Cingular from the U.S. plan to announce a deal with Apple and allow its clients to use iTunes music store via special mobile phones from Motorola, Reuters news-agency reports. T-Mobile has reportedly officially announced the intention to enable iTunes in its networks by Christmas, 2005. Cingular and O2 declined to comment, it is claimed.

This news come after Motorola announced the iTunes enabled mobile phone would go on sale by the end of September, probably be scheduled for September 7, 2005, which is tomorrow. I suppose this new iTunes service is only applicable to 3G phone users as the file size of one mp3 song may go up to 5MB or more. It is totally not feasible using GPRS or EDGE to transmit.
