AdSense On Google Talk ?

Friday 16 September 2005 @ 4:26 am

Google Talk with AdSense
Just some thing to ponder after we have seen eBay acquired Skype just 3 days ago. It’s almost certain Skype will start integrating some services related to eBay business in near future. So, that actually rang me a bell that Google might do the same to its Instant Messenger application, Google Talk, as well.

In fact, I think Google is definitely considering to integrate one of its advertising services, Google AdSense, into Google talk.

The purpose of AdSense in Google Talk can be as an advertisement banner or text link. It might appears whenever we write some keywords. Take for instance, when we type CRM (stands for Customer Relationship Management) software, there will be a text advertisement shows up some where in the conversation windows.

Personally, I think this is quite highly possible as we have already seen MSN Messenger having an advertisement banner at the bottom of the application. However, if this feature is enabled by default, Google Talk should allow the user to turn it off because some times it’s very annoying seeing too many advertisements while chatting. :p

When Google Is Born !!

Thursday 15 September 2005 @ 2:32 pm

Google
Some of us might already known that Google was actually a research project done by the founder Sergey Brin and Larry Page when they were pursuing their PHD doctorate programme in Standford University. And it is now 7 years old.

In fact, when Google was just set up, there were only less than 25 million pages indexed, this number has gone rocket high since it started to serve us and reach countless pages nowadays.

IBM, Intel and Sun were the hardware sponsors to Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Besides, they were using GNU, Linux and Python as the foundation software for Google. No wonder, they seem to be a big threat to Microsoft nowadays. :p

By the way, how many of us have any idea how was the setup of all the machines for the project? Let’s have a look how Google looked like in 1998 :-

This is the server using only 300 MHz Dual Pentium II, 512MB of RAM and nine 9GB harddisk.

Happy Belated Birthday, Google !!

Friday 9 September 2005 @ 2:09 am

Google
ArggGg….

I am 2 days late to wish Google happy birthday. Perhaps late better than never. :p

In fact, Google should be celebrating its 7th birthday this year as its official birthday is September 7, 1998. From an underdog to Yahoo search engine in those days to the leader of search engine now, Google has gone through all sorts of improvements and invented all sorts of innovative services for us, free of charge !!

Here I wish Google from the bottom of my heart to have a bright future ahead and keep on inventing new and useful services while sustaining the edge that they are having in the industry now.

Happy Belated Birthday, my beloved Google. :)

5 Possible Google Products

Thursday 1 September 2005 @ 5:57 pm

Google
Few months ago, I posted an article regarding some possible new products and services from Google. Some of it like Google services for cell phones and G Messenger were already launched.

Now there are a few more highly possible products to be launched by Google in near future. They are :-

  • GoogleNet
Evidence : Google has been buying up unused fiber-optic cable all over the US.
  • Gbrowser
Evidence : Google owns the domain name Gbrowser.com

    Registrant:
    Google Inc.
    (DOM-1278108)

  • Google Office
    Evidence : Just speculating. :D
  • GoogleOS
Evidence : Nothing obvious to date, but it’s really hard to put this out of the list.

Really looking forward to seeing any of these products launched.
