Google Store – Buy Google Related Products

Oppss… Another Google related news, can’t help it.

Google StoreGoogle Store is not a new site operated by Google because I have seen it back in 2004. Google Store (googlestore.com) used to be located at google-store.com and the homepage with a map of the world is a new addition to the website.

Google Store Map
Where is the U.K.?

Something bizarre is that the map on the homepage doesn’t not show some countries including the advanced U.K., Madagascar, Iceland, Greenland, Cuba, etc. Even the victim of tsunami, Sri Lanka, also missing from the map. The map designer might need to take a geographic class and remedy it. :p

Anyway, some Google related products are available in Google Store including accessories, fun stuffs, kids wear, office accessories, wearables, software and even server hardware. Only software is free in Google Store and those software can be downloaded from Google Pack as well.

GoogleGooAlright, maybe you think a world map without the U.K. is fine, but I found another even more bizarre point. With no UK countries can be found on the map, all prices in the region of Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia are label using Pound Sterling (£) currency. How ironic!

One thing good if you stay in the U.S. because you will get free shipping from Google Store. The goods will be sent via UPS Ground within the continental U.S. Enjoy shopping. :)

you can actually change the currency to Euro or USD. That store uses the os commerce back-end, a popular open source e-commerce script. I wonder why they didn’t give them any credits :/

Yup, I notice they are using OSCommerce too. At first, when I found that site, I thought it’s just some website not owned by Google. But then I doubt Google will not sue such site for trademark infringement of the domain google-store.com. Anyway, maybe Google bought the license to remove the link, huh?
