Playboy On PSP !!

Owners of Sony’s Play Station Portable (PSP) handheld video game player can now view Playboy pictures on their handheld.

The online arm of Playboy Enterprises Inc. on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, said it will offer photo galleries and videos shot and edited specifically for the PSP.

Don’t be so happy yet, though “PlayboyStation Portable” is available for free, it will be in the form of two non-nude picture galleries and one free video. Only subscribers to Playboy’s online service can access premium nude content. :D

Google Recorded Quarterly Profit

Search engine giant, Google Inc., recorded profit of nearly six times higher than a year earlier last Thursday, April 21, 2005. This news sent shares of Google more than 5 percent higher in after-hours trade to around $215 that day.

Google had net income of $369.2 million, or $1.29 a share, in the first quarter, compared with $64.0 million, or 24 cents a share, a year earlier. Results from the most recent quarter included a $49 million charge related to stock-based compensation.

Total revenue was $1.26 billion, up from $651.6 million a year earlier. Virtually all of the company’s revenue comes from ads that are triggered when Web users type certain key words into Google’s search engine.

This LCD is utilizing ClearMotivTM Technology that includes the Dynamic Structure Technology and Amplified Impulse Technology to effectively reduce the response time of the liquid crystal in presenting true crisp images.

4 milliseconds is a new record breaking in LCD response time for the ViewSonic R&D team after the introduction of the world’s first LCD with 8 milliseconds. However View Sonic will not be introducing any product with below 4ms response time because there is no visible difference of value for end-user below 4ms.

Intel Ships WiMax Chips

Intel just announced they will begin shipping WiMax chipsets to major equipment manufacturers, including Siemens AG of Germany and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. of China, on 18 April , 2005. Products built on Intel WiMax chipset are expected to be launched by this autumn.

For you information, WiMAX stands for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access and provides data links at distances of up to 30 miles at a maximum speed of 70mbps (megabits per second). WiMax is based on IEEE802.16-2004 standard and is designed to provide wireless broadband Internet access to end-users beyond Wi-Fi range and speed.

Dual-core desktops hit the market

Even though Advanced Micro Devices first launched Dual Core processors, now Dell and Velocity Micro are among the first to begin taking orders on dual-core desktops based on Intel’s Pentium Processor Extreme Edition 840 processor.

For now, dual-core chips will sit at the top of the PC pyramid . The desktops, priced around USD$2,300 to USD$3,000, are aimed at home multimedia and gaming enthusiasts who want the latest technology, as well as professionals in areas such as video editing. I suppose only hardcore gamers or heavy multimedia users willing to get one of this highly priced babies. :p

120Gig Laptop Harddisk In May

While Toshiba is going to put 4Gig into 0.85-inch harddisk, Seagate announced that it will soon begin shipping a 120GB laptop hard drive, which would be the largest available on the market today. This 120Gig harddisk drive will be operating at 5400rpm.

According to Seagate, this drive is also very resistant to shock. The company claims the drives can withstand 900 Gs of non-operating shock and 250 Gs of operating shock without damage to hard drive data. The new drives also sport better power efficiency and near-silent operation.
