Google Applies Urchin On Blogger.com

Monday 26 September 2005 @ 2:37 pm

UrchinUrchin is a website statistic analysis script used by website owners to track the traffic and user experience of the website. If you happen to have a hosting account with you, probably you have heard about this useful analytics scipt other than Webalizer and Awstats. Anyway, this great service was acquired by Google in March, 2005, but its future development has been a mystery since the acquisition. Though Urchin still selling its service to the end users through its website, no one (of course except Google employees) actually knows what Google will do to Urchin.

Urchin On Blogger

Somehow, when I was playing with the latest Google AdSense feature in Blogger.com just now, I found that Google is actually applying Urchin on its free blogging service. I saw connections established to service.urchin.com, when I login to the Google AdSense account from within Blogger.com.

So, I guess Google is only applying Urchin service to its own services at the moment. One thing I really hope to see in near future is Google offering this expensive website analytics script Free Of Charge like the rest of its great services.

Easy Steps To Earn Money Using Blogger.com

Sunday 25 September 2005 @ 4:07 pm

Most of us know Blogger.com belongs to Google. Just in case you didn’t know, both Blogger.com and Blogspot.com are the same free blogging service offered by Google. So as expected, to sell advertisement by integrating Google AdSense into the blog should not be very difficult.

In fact, the Ads integration is actually not hard for those who understand HTML and PHP programming language. Now, with the latest AdSense feature available within Blogger.com, integrating Ads from Google AdSense into your blog in Blogger.com has become easier for everyone, even those non-IT literate bloggers. :)

Adsense Feature

I was playing with this new feature and found that it is really very easy to publish advertisements via Google AdSense. One thing I like about this new feature is the ease of putting Ads that blend nicely into the template by just select the Blend Template option.

History Of Microsoft Internet Explorer

Friday 23 September 2005 @ 5:59 pm

IE 7
When I started my blogging lide back in April, I posted a very brief history of Mozilla Firefox and its roadmap. Today, I saw an article from Microsoft by Sandi Hardmeier, talking about the history of its browser, Internet Explorer.

Well, I didn’t know actually Internet Explorer is celebrating its 10 years old birthday this year. Microsoft Internet Explorer was officially born in 1995, when its former browser Mosaic handed the licensed source code to Microsoft. I was also surprised when I get to know the development team of Netscape Navigator is on the same team who created Mosaic, which means Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator are from the same family. :p

A Secure Google WiFi

Tuesday 20 September 2005 @ 4:59 pm

GoogleGuess I have missed to make a prediction of such service from the past 2 articles about the possible Google products. Anyway, I have just come across what I guess to be another new service (Yup, another one!) from Google, Google WiFi. We can use this free service with an additional service, Google Secure Access, too.

Before you head over to the page to download the Google Secure Access, for your information, Google Secure Access currently only available at certain locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. By the way, San Francisco City will be going entirely wireless in near future.

What the new service will do is to receive the internet traffic from our PC and encrypt it while it is sending through Google’s servers then the data will be sent back through Google servers to our computer. By doing so, Google Secure Access allows us to establish a more secure connection while using Google WiFi.

Now, even WiFi service also Google took a step into the industry, let’s see what else the giant search engine company will do the next. :)
