Exabytes RM0.99 Domain Crazy Sale

Tuesday 6 March 2007 @ 11:47 am

I have blogged about some crazy domain sales from Yahoo and GoDaddy before. Today there is another unbeatable crazy sale of domain name, this time is from one of famous local hosting companies, Exabytes!

They are now selling .com, .net & .org domain names at only RM0.99!! Yes, the price is quoted in Ringgit Malaysia!
Exabytes claims this is the cheapest offer and the FIRST in Malaysia to offer such a price! I do agree on this.

This special offer is valid until 12 March 2007, which is about one week to go. Each customer is allowed to register maximum 2 domain names and it’s for new domain registration only. Such low price is only applicable for the first year only and the subsequent year will be RM55.99. Do check their pricing.

Well, I just went to check out this crazy sales and found out there are only 2 payment options, which is either you send the payment using a credit card or sending them a cheque. Anyway, I believe it will be even better if PayPal payment is accepted.

Enjoy the sale!

my concern as well, if they skyrocket the price in the 3rd year, there is nothing the subscriber could do…

RM0.99 first year, RM55.99 the next year and I suppose it stays the same for the subsequent years.

Well, you can transfer the domain out to some other domain registras after the first 60 days (based on ICANN policy) with Exabytes, if you afraid the price skyrockets.

Yes Wahlau.NET, a legit domain registration company will always allow you to transfer out the domain after 60 days.

Yeah, cheap but they’re a pain to deal with. They’ll require you to fill out forms and fax back to them. I’d rather pay Fabulous.com $6.75, than waste my time filling out forms, faxing them, and confirming that Exabyte’s received them.

For those who are curious, here’s the text:

“As part of our efford to prevent Internet Frauds and protect our online customers, kindly complete the attached CC Auth Form and fax this document together with both sides of your credit card and driving license to +604-6308288 or scan and email to [email protected]. For enquiries, please email [email protected]. If no response received within the next 48 Hours, your order will be voided automatically and the payment made will be refunded back to your Credit Card.”

Their admin console is buggy, too. I registered two domain names, but had to create one account for each. Not worth it I think.
