Well, I might be a bit late to put up the donation banner for Red Cross Organization for the aid to Katrina victim. I hope it’s late batter than never.
There you see a triangular banner on the top right hand corner which directly link to the Red Cross Organization. This little piece of fine work was create by Alvey and he posted the script and the image in his blog, so that you may put the same banner up onto your blog or website as well.
The integration of the code into WordPress is easy. Just paste it into your footer.php after uploading the banner image to the server.
The code is simple, in case you want to adjust the placement of the banner, like what I did, there are some values you’ll need to change. I would suggest you to copy the code from the author’s blog, the code below only serves the purpose of a short tutorial.
[js][/js]
What I did was to change the padding value to padding: 43px 0 0 0. The 1st value is the distance from the top, the 2nd value is the distance from the right, the 3rd value is the distance from the bottom, and the 4th is from the left. By changing to padding:43px 0 0 0, I move the banner 43pixel down from the edge. You might try to change the margin: values to suit your blog or website design too.
Don’t forget to replace the image path src=”http://www.weblogsinc.com/common/media/red-cross.gif” to your own path.
