Zippo Lighter Style Digital Camera

I know some friends who collect Zippo lighter as a hobby, they might be interested in getting one of this pocket stealth camera. The untra small size camera is named l’espion S Digital Dream .Com Ltd. It is a 0.3 Megapixel camera which could possibly hold over 300 images at the resolution of 320 x 240.

In fact, it is not permanently attached to a Zippo style-like lighter casing, it can be removed from the casing. It uses ST Micro technology and LiteSync technology, which enable the camera for high quality image capturing and store them in a small file size. Moreover, at such a small size, the l’espion S amazingly has all three functions of snapping pictures, video recording and voice recording.

To use the camera is pretty easy, flip the cover of the casing, press the snap button, close the casing. It is no doubt a great tool for spying, isn’t it?

So far, we have seen some interesting PC modding like Intel Outside, Pumpkin PC and even Mac Mini modding. Well, I saw another nice one not long ago. There was this top of the class PC modding which has won ExtremeTech annual case mod contest : Batman Begins PC!

Yes, this is a PC case.

The creator, Alex Wiley, used about a year and five months to complete the astonishing 55 inches wide PC case. The aluminum PC case has in 2 harddisk slots with an additional 16x DVDRW drive installed just above the motherboard.

San Francisco has become the first city in the U.S. to offer safer sex advice to teenagers via SMS. With this latest service come to live, it’s no doubt the city is currently ranked just behind Seattle as the nation’s most “unwired city” in the U.S.

The text-messaging program is basically directed at young people ages 12 to 24. According to Michelle Irving, a 22-year-old peer educator with the city’s Department of Public Health, a lot of teenagers don’t go to clinics, and they’re afraid to ask questions regarding sex, such as problem with broken condoms and how to respond to pressures to have sex.

Saw a collection of old advertisements of Apple Macintosh back in 1984.

A guy did a series of full-page scan of 16 pages of advertisement in Newsweek magazine and published it onto the net. Somehow, I have a little doubt why the mouse of the Mac was placed on the left hand side.

Seagate Technology has just announced the release of the world’s first 750GB desktop hard drive. The first shipments of this huge capacity internal hard drive was yesterday (April 26, 2006). The external model with the same capacity will be released this coming Monday, May 1, 2006.

Seagate’s latest 750GB harddisk is part of the new Barracuda 7200.10 family which currently having 2 models ST3750640AS and ST3750840AS. Barracuda 7200.10 harddisks are built on perpendicular recording technology, a new technology that increases data density while decreasing moving parts for a more dependable drive.

Perpendicular recording technology stands data bits vertically onto the disc media, rather than horizontal to the surface as with traditional longitudinal recording, to deliver new levels of hard drive data density, capacity and reliability.

Big Dog – The Robotic Mule

This robotic mule as shown in the picture is developed by Boston Dynamics for military purposes. BigDog is the latest alpha robotic to be added into Boston Dynamics family of robots. Boston Dynamics is also supported by Foster Miller, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Harvard University Concord Field Station. They named this robotic beast BigDog, the most advanced quadruped robot on earth !

BigDog is powered by a gasoline engine that drives a hydraulic actuation system. In other words, it’s very sturdy as it can withstand a kick to the body without falling over. BigDog can walk, run and climb on rough terrain and carry heavy loads. Technically speaking, BigDog is able to trot at 3.3 mph (5.35 km/h), climbed a 35 degree slope and carried a 120 lb (54.4 kg) load.

It’s specification is as follows :-

  • Long : 1 meter
  • Height : 0.7 meters tall
  • Weight : 75 kg
