July 7 London terrorist attacks has been the focus for the past 1 week, therefore virus writers and scammers are taking advantage of this incident to launch a few viruses and scams in the cyberspace.
A Windows virus arrives in an e-mail message with “TERROR HITS LONDON” in the subject line has been created that claims to link to amateur video footage of the aftermath of one of the bombs on the London Underground, the BBC reported Monday, July 11, 2005. The message tells those receiving it to click on the attached file named “London terror moovie.avi” to see amateur video footage shot in the London Underground immediately after one of the bombs went off. AMD vs Intel Lawsuit Continues …
On Thursday July 7, 2005, Google launched their beta version of Google Toolbar for Firefox !! Finally it is released as Google previously only offered a toolbar for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
The toolbar offers a Google search box (though this feature by default appears in FireFox :D ), search news articles, page rank, spell check, translator, and Google’s AutoLink that turns street addresses into links to a map. Personally I like the page rank and translator feature. With Gooegle Toolbar now we just have to point to the word then the translation of the word will appear, useful and come in handy. The green bar in the page rank feature gives you an idea of how high the webpage you are viewing is ranked in Google.
Quoted:
“Not that long ago, the Google Firefox Toolbar team met for the first time – and now we’ve built the Google Toolbar for Firefox in 10 languages for three operating systems (Windows, Mac and Linux),” said Tech Lead Justin Voskuhl in the Google Blog.
An Internet Explorer bug has been found days ago. Microsoft almost immediately on Tuesday, July 5, 2005, posted a temporary workaround to a bug in Internet Explorer that could let an attacker grab control of a PC.
The vulnerability involves the “Javaprxy.dll” file, which is part of the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine, and handles ActiveX controls. A hacker could exploit the bug to make IE crash or even insert his own code onto the system.

We have seen some factory tours of computer device manufacturers before like, Gigabyte Factory Tour I posted back in April. I just come across Google Factory Tour a few hours ago, so thought of sharing with you all.
Google released on their press center about the factory tour which took place on May 19, 2005. There is a webcast clip of the tour, but I need to warn you first, it is a VERY long clip !! I spent not less than 20 minutes watching it, and after the 20 minutes Marissa Mayer (The 2nd presenter of total 13) is still continuing her speech. Anyway, no doubt it is very informative for anyone interested in knowing Google more. The clip covers how and why Google services are created.

As the AMD sued Intel case continues, here is an update to the antitrust lawsuit.
AMD has won a motion to serve document preservation subpoenas against computer makers, retailers, distributors and small system builders almost immediately after filing the motion Friday, July 1, 2005, as part of its claim that Intel is violating the antitrust law and put pressure on their vendors to use its x86 processors rather than AMD’s. In other words, AMD is granted to right to view third party’s documents, including their vendors’ communication logs and documents.
It is no doubt, the use of such documentary evidence is expected to play a key role as AMD attempts to prove its antitrust suit in the District Court of Delaware.
Quoted:
The motion sought a judicial order permitting AMD to “preserve relevant evidence that is in the possession of specified third-parties.” The company said its lawyers will now “engage in discussions with 30 third-parties in an effort to implement the order so as to preserve evidence while imposing on them as little an administrative burden as possible.”
